5 Tips To Have Great Coffee At Home

Now that you’ve taken the first step to great coffee at home by getting freshly roasted coffee, here’s a few other simple tips to help you make your home or office brew experience even more special!

1. Brew with love and care
So much hard work and love has gone into the coffee that arrives in your mailbox — from the amazing farmers who toil their land, to our rigorous ‘cupping’ selection process, to lovingly hand-roasting your beans, carefully custom grinding and packing them, and finally to our friends at your local courier who get it into your mailbox. That’s a lot of work — so take time and care as you perform the finale in bringing to life this amazing bean!

2. Take your time
Drink your coffee slowly and appreciate the changing flavour notes and nuances that occur as the coffee cools.

3. Breathe
Breathe deeply through your nose while you roll the coffee around your tongue. Flavours are not only experienced on your tongue, but also in the space behind your nose, called the olfactory bulb. Breathing deeply will help you experience the flavours more fully.

4. Compare and contrast
>From time to time compare and contrast two different coffees alongside each other (easy to do if you’ve ordered the Duo pack). Comparison gives you a benchmark and enables you to appreciate the diversity of the coffee world.

5. Experiment and have fun
There’s no right or wrong with coffee and there are so many ways to enjoy it. Different brew methods can highlight specific characteristics. As a general rule, if you want more strength in your brew, you can increase the amount of coffee to water ratio, or decrease the grind size. For french press and aeropress, you can also play with the steep time.

Experiment, have fun, and brew your perfect cup! Hope the 5 tips can give you a great coffee experience at home. I am Calvyn Lee, a Digital Marketing Trainer also a coffee lover, hope to share you more coffee tips in the future!
